Gradual Lifting of Restrictions in Europe

The EU member states gradually lift the lockdown measures.

The Czech Republic was among the first states to announce the partial cancellation of distance education and the gradual lifting of restrictions. Moreover, malls, beauty salons, and some travel agencies have reopened in the country since May 10. Opening summer terraces of restaurants and cafes is the nearest plans.

Wearing masks in the Czech Republic is no longer mandatory. However, the authorities urge citizens to protect their airways in crowded places.

The easing of quarantine measures is primarily due to mass immunization — according to official data, over a million of citizens are fully vaccinated in the Czech Republic.

The epidemiological situation in Italy also encourages positive forecasts. The local residents celebrated the end of the isolation period last weekend.

Belgium lifts curfew. However, its residents ignored social distancing measures when celebrating this event, which led to clashes with law enforcement agencies.

Germany has relaxed the rules for entering the country since May 13. Fully vaccinated tourists and those recovered from the coronavirus infection are now able to cross the state border without testing and a 14-day quarantine.

Restrictions on travelling within a radius of 10 km from the residence location have been lifted in France since the beginning of May, and summer terraces of restaurants will be open in the middle of the month.

French schoolchildren are already back to their desks (the younger grades started studies on April 26, the older ones started on May 3).

Despite the gradual lifting of restrictions, the authorities of the EU member states urge citizens to comply with security measures.
