Apple disclosed its anti-fraud report in early May. A company spokesman claimed that potentially dangerous transactions totaling $1.5+ bln had been prevented in 2020 (this figure included not only attempts to steal money, but also the disclosure of confidential information).
In addition, the company has blocked over a million risky mobile apps.
The App Store saw the following:
- 95 thous. apps with signs of fraud were removed;
- 215,000 apps were rejected for violating the privacy policy;
- 470 thous. accounts of potentially dangerous developers were removed;
- 110 thous. pirated apps were removed.
Protecting user privacy is a top priority for Apple. Its sole control allows to fully implement this function.
