Dubai: Plans to Expand Creative Zones

Dubai can be called a leader in creating the right infrastructure for a good reason. The economic stability of the largest city in the United Arab Emirates annually reaffirms its high status. Therefore, the announced strategy for supporting the creative industry is another round of its development.

Dubai launched an ambitious strategic program in 2021, which should turn the emirate into a large-scale center of creativity in the short term.

Expanding creative zones for cultural content is expected to increase the contribution of the creative economy to the country's GDP. According to preliminary forecasts, GDP is expected to almost double – from 2.6% to 5% by the end of 2025.

Not only will the number of operating creative companies be increased, but also the number of jobs will be significantly expanded in the next 4 years.

What is the Creative Economy Strategy aimed at? Its main task is to support creative individuals and the creation of new concepts.

The project to strengthen the creative economy originates back from 2013 — it began with the creation of such hubs as Media City, Production City, and Dubai Design District.
