What you need to know to apply for citizenship in Grenada

A Grenada passport allows visa-free entry to more than 140 countries, including all Schengen countries, Great Britain, Russia and even China.


Grenada is the only country with a Citizenship by Investment program that has signed an agreement with the U.S. to issue E-2 visas to investors. This visa guarantees Grenadian citizens the right to live, study, and work in the United States without a green card.


The requirements for the investor are quite trivial: the applicant, whose age exceeds 18 years, must undergo a comprehensive due diligence.

To participate in the Grenada program, you must:

  • Acquire real estate worth at least USD 350,000. This facility must be approved by the government. The sale of the purchased premises within the first five years is not allowed. Here you also need to consider the availability of the state duty: after the sale transaction, the applicant will need to pay USD 50,000 (for the main applicant and three dependent family members) or USD 25,000 (for each additional family member)
  • Make a charitable contribution to the Grenada Island Transformation Fund (NTF). The minimum investment amount depends on the number of family members included in the application:
  • USD 150,000 for the main applicant;
  • USD 200,000 for the main applicant and his/her three relatives;
  • USD 25,000 for each additional family member (if there are more than three relatives applying for citizenship.

The government issues a decision on citizenship in an average of 4 months from the date of application.
